The following resources and services are funded by the Western Australian Department of Health as part of an evidence informed and holistic response to the prevention and control of blood-borne viruses and sexually transmissible infections in WA.

  • Aboriginal Health Council of WA (AHCWA) Deliver sexual health and blood-borne virus services for the Aboriginal community controlled health services.
  • Get The Facts Get the facts is a website aims to provide accurate and reliable information on relationships, sexual health and blood-borne viruses for young people aged 13-17 in Western Australia.
  • Growing and Developing Healthy Relationships Designed to support WA teachers, educators, school nurses and schools to provide positive and comprehensive relationships and sexuality education. This website includes lesson plans, background teaching notes, teaching strategies, guidelines and topic based resource section.
  • HealthyWA Western Australia Department of Health website offering information on a range of health conditions, healthy living, safety and first aid, treatment and tests, news and the WA Health system.
  • Hepatitis WA Provide a range of health services for people infected with, or affected by, viral hepatitis in Western Australia.
  • Let's yarn An online resource to help educators, parents and health professionals yarning with young Aboriginal people about relationships and sex. The website provides culturally appropriate tips for how to talk to young people, culturally appropriate learning activities, professional development and funding information, health promotion resources and links to videos and books.
  • The RSE Project Provides professional development in comprehensive relationships and sexuality education to pre-service and practicing teachers.
  • Sexual Health Quarters An independent, non-profit organisation providing specialized services in sexual health and wellbeing for all Western Australians.
  • Silver book STI/BBV management guidelines for health professionals that outlines guiding principles, STI screening recommendations, notifiable infections, contact tracing, specimen collection, examination and treatments.
  • SiREN Provide a research and evaluation network for sexual health and blood-borne viruses in Western Australia.
  • Talk soon. Talk often A guide for parents talking to their kids about relationships and sex. Includes the key messages to discuss at each age and stage from birth to adulthood, tips on how to tackle the curly questions with age appropriate information and how to create a safe and open environment to have conversations.
  • Talk Test Treat Trace A comprehensive tool to guide the prevention, early detection and treatment of STIs and BBVs. It has been developed to support health professionals to plan, deliver, monitor and evaluate STI and BBV programs.
  • WA Aids Council Provide a range of comprehensive community based services for people living with, or affected by, HIV in Western Australia.
  • Deadly Sista Girlz Sexual health education for young Aboriginal girls in Western Australia.
  • Youth educating peers Supports and educates young people on relationships, sexual health and blood-borne viruses by working in partnership with the WA youth sector and building capacity of youth workers.
